Tofino Public Market

Created: June, 2011

Client: Laird Salton

Tofino citizen Laird Salton manages the weekly public market in the heart of Tofino. A website needed to be built to showcase the different vendors, post news, and direct visitors to becoming vendors themselves.

Built on Drupal, the manager of the site can add vendors, including a description and photos of their table. The manager can also submit news about the market.

A custom designed theme was crafted, with the background of the site using artwork from a local artist.

TofinoBox

Created: May, 2011

Client: Marie Kjorlien, Laird Salton

TofinoBox.com allows residents of the sleepy Vancouver Island town to easily post local events and classified ads – all without the need for user logins and passwords.

Built on Drupal, the website was quickly rolled out in under three weeks. Since the client (who, I'll admit, is my sister and brother-in-law) live in Tofino, all communication to develop the site was done via email and Skype. The clients had a clear vision of what they wanted the site to eventually be, making the process move along very quickly.

The site also allows administrative users the ability to create their own events and classifieds, manage advertising, and view reports (clicks and views) on the ads.

TofinoBox utilizes the Sky theme, which I modified with the help of local Tofino designer, Jay Santarossa.

Sacred Stone Spa

Created: December, 2009

Client: Sacred Stone Spa (Tofino, British Columbia)

What started out as a relaxing vacation on Vancouver Island, quickly turned into a designing and coding extravaganza for this local spa.

Sacred Stone Spa is situated in the small town of Tofino, offering many services to their local and abroad clients. This web site aims to show what Sacred Stone Spa has to offer. It also educates those interested about the different techniques that the spa uses.

Pembina Concrete

Created: May, 2008

Client: Pembina Concrete (Entwistle, Alberta)

Originally created in 2001, this site had become dated over the years. I was asked to redesign the site.

Photos showcasing the companies products also needed to be reshot, so I was asked to go on location and take photos.

Working over the phone and via email with the client, we were both able to accomplish a redesign that the company was happy with.
